How to Naturally Remove Baby Poop From Clothing - A Step by Step Guide

I don’t know about you, but I feel as though I have the world’s poopiest baby. She poops here, she poops there, she poops EVERYWHERE. I’m constantly working out massive yellow colored stains from her cutest outfits (she rarely stains her “play clothes”). With my first child, I could never seem to wash the stains out, and ended up trashing a couple pieces of clothing every so often. This time around, I learned the fool-proof secret to returning baby clothes to their former glory – the sun.

How to:

Step 1.     Hand wash the stain in the sink with cool water and some dish soap

Step 2.     Rinse out soap and wring out clothing

Step 3.     Set clothing out in the sun, inside material facing the sky, for a couple hours

Step 4.     Wash, and dry, as you normally would

Step 5.     Enjoy poop-free clothes

The sun should remove the stain completely. If the stain is still present and the clothes are still wet, continue to let the stain soak up the sun. If the clothing piece is dry, repeat steps 1-3.

I’ve been guilty of forgetting about a blow out and letting it sit in a wet bag for a couple days. Even in that situation, the sun is magic. Incredibly set stains can still be worked out with a little solar help. The only time this hasn’t **completely** worked for me is when I’ve washed and dried the stain without allowing the clothes to sit in the sun. Once the stain has been set in by the dryer, it gets a lot more difficult to work out.

Now that you know the secret of the sun, you can allow yourself not to fret over yet another poop explosion.
