Hi! I’m Allison—wife, mother, Colorado resident, wrangler of all the chaos that surrounds my family and this blog.

Fun facts:

  • I love bullet points. I wholly support the use of bullet points, over paragraphs, so you’ll probably run across quite a few in this space.

  • I’m a mother to (baby) Nora and (toddler) Everett – they are all the things that relate to sweet, kind and funny, while also turning my hair gray and driving me to pour a second glass of wine.

  • My husband Jonathan and I have been together longer than I could legally drink. We worked at a small private school together and got to know each other on the playground while ensuring that the middle schoolers didn’t get too friendly.

  • I was born and raised in Southern California, but my heart always had eyes for Colorado. My family and I were lucky enough to finally make the move in early 2020.

  • My favorite animal is a shark, any shark, they’re all pretty badass and awesome. Shark Week is pretty much considered a holiday in my house, and there may or may not be specialized drinks and meals that aid in the celebration.

  • I worked in the public sector for nearly a decade, and because of that I’m extremely passionate about being involved in my community and encourage everyone else to be too. Attending city council meetings; involvement in committees, commissions & boards; and volunteering with non-profits are all great ways to work toward making your community a place you’re proud to live in.

  • I’ve been a stay-at-home mom, a full-time working mom, and now I’m looking to be a working-from-home mom. I firmly believe that all three options are valid ways to contribute to your family.

  • I rarely listen to music that was produced prior to 2010. My go-to jams tend to have been produced between 1980-2008. See below for examples.

  • My top three favorite songs of all time are:

    • Africa – Toto

    • No Scrubs – TLC

    • The Thunder Rolls – Garth Brooks

  • I also rarely watch anything that doesn’t at least have some semblance of a comedic element. If it can’t make me laugh a little, it’s rarely worth my time.

  • My favorite shoes are loafers – casual, yet put together.

And, just like that, you basically know me.
